AfiTags Malfunction Report

The data collected by the tags are crucial for identifying cows, and monitoring animal and herd behavior and health.

When tags malfunction it affects the data integrity and may impact on the users' ability to provide timely treatments.

The upper table in the report counts the faulty tag per day, and displays the type of faults detected, as follows:

Tags faults may result from short-range, long-range or measurement faults.

Column

Description

Faulty Tag

Displays the total number of faulty tags.

Not Read at All

Displays the number of tags not read by the long range (Reader), nor short range (parlor and sort) antennas.

These tags may belong to culled cows, cows moved to the treatment area, or outside of the Reader's range. Tags removed from cows enter hibernation mode and are not necessarily faulty.

Not Read by Reader

Displays the number of tags not read by the Reader (long-range).

Not Read in Parlor

Displays the number of tags not read in the parlor or Sort (short range)

Measurement

Displays the number of tags where Rumination and Eating behavior measurements are incorrect, even though the ID functions.

Lower detailed Report: Click a row in the top table to open the detailed report that lists faulty tags and displays the type of fault for each. Faults are marked:

Red - Indicates a fault in the most recently ended session.

Green - Indicates no faults occurred.

Column

Description

Cow Number

Displays the cow number to whom the tag is assigned.

AfiTag

Displays the tag number.

Group

Displays the group to which the cow is assigned.

Not Read By Reader

Indicates which tags were not read by the long range antenna (Reader)

Not Read in Parlor

Indicates which tags were not read by the short range antenna (parlor or sort).

Faulty Measurement Activity

Fault symbol indicates incorrect measurements correlated to detection of heat.

Faulty Measurement Rumination

Fault symbol indicates incorrect measurements correlated to rumination and eating behavior.
